Everything started during the summer last year when one of my friends from University – Alexandra invited me to the EuroPeers event in Edinburgh. During the meeting, I’ve learnt that EuroPeers are young people who have studied, worked or volunteered in different countries and their aim is to encourage others to get involved in these life-changing activities. Straight after the meeting, I have made a decision, that I want to be a part of this programme. I’ve sent my registration form and later on the application for the International training in Liverpool. I was selected as one of the 30 participants from 13 different countries and I was really excited about going there.
I still remember my train journey on the 7th of February from Edinburgh to Liverpool. Somehow I felt so tired and I completely didn’t know what to expect. Everything has changed, once I met the team and participants.
I have never thought that a few days in the city of the Beatles could change my life. Training in Liverpool inspired, motivated and encouraged me to become a better person. It opened my eyes for many different issues, boosted my self-confidence and allowed me to spend five days with the most amazing people that were always willing to listen and never judge. During this time, we shared our stories, international experiences, and values. Our days together were full of laughs and fantastic energy that hasn’t left me since then. Except for unforgettable memories and new projects opportunities, this training really empowered me and taught me to always stay true to myself and my values.
