It’s Monday!! The hardest part about writing regularly is knowing what to write about. But here we are, starting our tradition of weekly updates.
Just a couple of days ago, I realised that my EVS is already halfway through. Unimaginable considering how slow it felt to me in the first couple of months. After all, this is just one year in a lifetime. It’s really not much. A reminder to slow down on purpose sometimes and to actively reflect, learn, and, most of all, enjoy. This isn’t something I’ll be able to do ever again in my life and I intend to make the best of it.
So far, my EVS has been brilliant. Not in the sense that I was constantly over the moon with happiness and excitement, but in the sense that I’ve been given the chance to learn. I’ve learnt practical things in and out of the office, to use technology I’ve never used before, I’ve learnt to take initiative and to be pragmatic. And I’m still learning. This has only been half of the learning.
It’s funny how we can speed up the process of growing and changing by a whole lot through these kinds of experiences. Priorities change, points of view, whatever you think you know. Would I not be doing this, I’d have to do all of this learning on my own, maybe I’d never do it because I wouldn’t need to, and if I did, it would definitely take me more than a year. To conclude, I’d say, I’m not the same person I was when I first got here and I will not be the same person that I am now when I leave in six months time; And I’m proud of that.
On a different note, March will be quite a busy month for us, so you’ve got some interesting content coming your way. Stay tuned.
