Three years ago, I chose to do my Erasmus+ in London. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I was a shy 19-year-old who had never lived on her own before for more than two weeks, so it was really challenging. Looking back, I am really proud and glad of how much I grew in that year. And that is, in great part, thanks to all the amazing people I got to meet. I was so lucky with my flatmates, there were six of us (they were all older than me), and we created a family from the very beginning. I felt like home every time I came back to the halls. With them, I also got to travel while I was there. We did some funny trips, like a 1-day trip to Dublin for £4! But the one I enjoyed the most was when seven of us we spent five days in Oslo. It was beautiful, amusing and we got to know each other a lot more.
What I am trying to express with this story is don’t be afraid and embark on an international experience like Erasmus+, EVS or other, because I can assure you won’t regret it. Not only that, but you would make lifelong connections and immerse yourself in different cultures, which is really enriching. It has been my case, and now that I’m back to London three years after, I can meet with people and feel as if no time had passed. I am currently working as an intern for Momentum World, and it is being a really rewarding experience in every aspect. I am also meeting incredible people and getting to know more about all the opportunities out there. This week, I was in charge of social media, so I have shared my week through some pictures in our accounts, in case you are interested in knowing more about it.
