Hi, I’m Aneta, originally from Poland but currently living in London.
Before I arrived in the UK, for several years I worked as a Leasing Adviser in the Office Real Estate Market in Warsaw. I graduated from Warsaw University of Technology with a Master of Science degree in Urban Area Development and Planning. Simultaneously I was a Tutor at the Academy Of Future, the charitable organisation, where children are carried from long-term failure in school to succeed in life, which I loved. Despite the fact that something was still missing, I wanted to work with children in my life, since I remembered I wanted to be a teacher, but during those years, I was convicted not to.
This need brought me to Bangor, Northern Ireland in September 2016. I worked in the YMCA North Down, a charitable organisation, which supports young people, families and communities to flourish in mind, body and spirit. I worked mostly with young people
(7-11 years old) but also as a Crèche Support with toddlers (0-4 years old) and as a Teaching Assistant in Polish Supplementary School. My education and experience background is slightly different but I can truly say that my dreams have come true and I’m following my passion. Working with children and generally with people gives me sense and makes me a better person.
The EVS Volunteer (European Voluntary Service) position was one of the best opportunities which I have had in my life. It changed my life and gave me the opportunity to gain new, invaluable experience, develop my skill, learn more about myself and make a contribution to society. EVS was an amazing project, which I highly recommend! It gave me the chance to work in a great place with wonderful people. As well as traveling, meeting new friends from different countries and learning more about their cultures.
