Hej Allihopa! Or should I say “Tere”?

I am happy to introduce myself as the new EuroPeers International Coordinator. My name is Marie and I started my job at the Estonian National agency in January 2022.

My European curiosity started with my European Voluntary Service back in 2012, which feels like ages ago now. After EVS in Spain, I wanted to stay active, so I ended up joining the EuroPeers network. At this time I lived and studied in Germany. While in the system of European youth education, I had participated in all sorts of training opportunities, and activities and eventually became a trainer for the German National Agency. I then continued my studies in Sweden with an Erasmus semester and ended up staying for my whole Masters’s degree. So up until 10 days ago, I lived on the Swedish west coast in Gothenburg and now you can find me in snowy Tallinn on the Estonian coast. The EuroPeers network is full of surprises and sometimes you spontaneously end up in a different country. My transition from coast to coast has been going smoothly so far, I am learning loads of fun and exciting things about how to coordinate our cool international network. And I can’t wait to connect with you all!

Would you like to learn more about me? I like to learn new things and the latest project I took up is longboarding. Unfortunately, I could not take my longboard with me, first of all, because it was literally too long for my suitcase, but also: there is still a real winter here in Estonia. So currently it is more the weather for snowball fights, not for cruising across town on a longboard. Another hobby of mine is the radio and this, you can do from anywhere. So I brought along my microphone to Tallinn and I will continue to broadcast my radio show “The Show About Nothing” together with my co-hosts in Sweden. We talk about nothing specific and everything that matters and no topic is taboo! Luckily Estonia is famous for high-speed internet and well-functioning digital services, so it is easy to feel connected to your friends and family anywhere else in this world. So if you are curious now and want to reach me, I am only a few clicks away.
