Hwyl fawr Erasmus+, Shwmae Taith! Goodbye Erasmus+, Hello Taith!
Taith is the Welsh word for ‘Journey’. I think that this word really captures what the new international learning exchange programme is trying to achieve – ‘Taking Wales to the world and bringing the world to Wales’.
As a young person from a rural area of North Wales, Erasmus+ gave me accessible opportunities to international projects – many of which helped to enrich my skills by exposing me to new cultures and diverse ideas and thinking.
When the UK opted out of the Erasmus+ scheme, this was a huge blow to me and many other young people who had gained so much through the scheme.
For me, Taith represents Wales’ commitment to building and strengthening our international community. I am so excited for the possibilities and opportunities Taith brings and cannot wait to hear more about what the Taith scheme will offer.
