First of all, this COVID 19 pandemic was highly needed for us human beings. The way people are treating our environment, the way people are treating each other, living without kindness, and trying to benefit from every situation is something that had to be addressed. Taking things for granted and not appreciating little things in life is what people were doing before. Apparently, these times made them reconsider these changes and look at it from a different view.
Of course, COVID 19 has changed my life too, but I have to stop complaining because I am blessed to live the life I am living. I have been in isolation for almost 2 and a half months now. I am more than lucky and thankful for being able to work from home. I am isolated but together with my family and living in the family house so it’s kind of nice to be able to sit on the terrace and enjoy yourself a little bit. I come from Slovakia but I am living in Austria in a small village very close to the Slovak borders. I can’t really cross the borders and go to Slovakia because I would have to be put in the quarantine camps. It doesn’ t bother me as much as other things like not being able to see my grandmother and all my friends.
There are people out there who are jobless, struggling to survive, infected by the virus, and praying each day to get better. This situation made me realise how lucky I am to be healthy, have a job, and be with people I love.
If I am honest I have not always appreciated the little things in life like going grocery shopping, having a lunch on sunday with my grandmother, playing field hockey my mates etc.
There are a few things I have realised during the lockdown. Firstly, I am not going to be the same person as I was before this terrible virus attacked our planet. Secondly, I am gonna appreciate our nature, spread more kindness, help other people, and last but not least BE THANKFUL FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE.
Please, try to change this world too, we are all in this together.
